Living for Today

What if today was your last day?...How would you change? What would you do differently?

Tomorrow is never promised. Too often we get so caught up in always living for the future. Wondering what tomorrow, a week, a month, or even years from now will hold.  Not ever thinking about today, the moment we are living in right now. But what if tomorrow never comes?

Life is short. Things change quickly. You are then questioning why something could have ever happened, or turned out to be that way?  Wishing then, you could change it. Go back. Or have done something, or said something differently.

Once someone is gone, the first thing everyone says is, "I wish I could spend one more day with them." Or regrets are running through your mind of things you wish you would have said, how you would have spent more time with them, or what you wish you could change. But it's all gone. Because today will never come again. It's so easy to say though, I'll do it tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the day I will change. Or treat that person differently. Or tell that person how grateful or thankful I am for them. But what if they aren't here tomorrow? What if you aren't here tomorrow? You are left with too many regrets, I wishes, and wanting one more day to change it all...

It's so crazy sometimes how it feels as though our whole life is always revolving around our future. Always wondering what the next day, month, week, or year will bring. With each day leading up to that just going by. Not living in the moment, or for this day today, but always for tomorrow. All those special little moments of each and everyday are not taken in, but just skipped over thinking about tomorrow. A year goes by, you then wish you could change it all to go back.

Our emotions most of the time are even centered around the future. Rarely are they in the present. Always thinking about the good or bad things that could happen. Leaving us happy, sad, depressed, angry, etc. But what if none of that ever even happened?  Learning to take life as it comes and leave all the worrying behind, will lead to a so much more happier and healthy life.

So why not start living for today? The moment you are in now. And leaving the future in God's hands. Enjoying every special little moment, with no regrets later. Making the most out of everyday, knowing tomorrow is never promised. Not only for you, but also for everyone else around you. Live each day as if it's your last....
